Providing continuous electrical high quality power is an ongoing challenge. Many industries must have continuous, uninterrupted quality power to ensure production levels are maintained and the integrity of their computer systems are at their peak levels. Furthermore, many buildings such as hospitals must have continuous, reliable power to ensure life-critical devices are running in operating and intensive care rooms. This formidable task can be partially achieved with proper maintenance practices.

There are many maintenance tools, such as vibration, ultrasonic testing, and visual assessment that can be utilized in sustaining a healthy power system but none of them are as “powerful” as the infrared camera. Studies show that thermography provides the highest benefit. However, equipment training is not sufficient to produce a meaningful assessment of any given situation—regardless of the technology that is used.
